Underneath the arches

I love this natural arch formed by a wild cherry tree, heavily entwined with ivy. Maybe that's what dragged the crown earthwards when the tree was younger. I pass under it most days during my daily dog walk. It's beautiful, like Celtic knotwork.

There used to be a similar arch not far away from this one but it fell down during last year's storms. Thankfully, I captured it on camera as the seasons passed by so at least its existence is recorded for posterity.

The trust that manages the fields and meadows recently replaced this arch. I will enjoy watching it as it grows.

Nothing lasts forever.

But that doesn't man that things are forgotten.
