Winter is finally here with sharp frosts and temperatures that begin with minus signs. My daily rambles through the Chiltern Hills look deliciously pretty as if some mischievous sprite has dusted the world with icing sugar and the low golden sun casts long shadows and picks out the colours of the remaining leaves. It's all rather lovely.
And what could be better after a good long walk than stripping off the thermal bobble hat and scarf and settling down with a nice hot cup of tea and some home made gingerbread?
Simple pleasures.
Mind you, things looked a bit different on this day in 2017 ...
