Some beautiful blossom spotted today on a crab apple tree.
It was also lovely to see areas speckled with Buttercups. They're often overlooked as a 'weed' but the pollinators love them and they bring a lovely warmth to lawns and meadows.
There's an old tradition - that many still observe - of bringing yellow flowers into the house around the time of Beltane and May Day. And there is an abundance of them to choose from with daffodils, primroses, celandines, dandelions, buttercups, cowslips etc everywhere.
They are the colour of the sun and bringing them into the house is 'bringing in the summer'.
I'm all for that.
